About the Scholarship fundEvery year, children of fire fighters and EMS are provided with scholarships based on a competitive application process.
Proceeds from the from the upcoming Firefighter's Ball, fundraising events, and donations are used to seed scholarship funds. We appreciate your consideration when choosing to support our scholarships! |
OVERVIEW
The Scholarship Program was founded in 2013 to benefit the sons and daughters of currently employed or retired Sugar Land Fire Department firefighters in good standing. Sugar Land Citizen's Fire Academy Alumni Association (CFAAA) provides funding for this program via fundraisers, private, and corporate donations.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicant must be a child/dependent of a currently employed, or retired, Sugar Land Fire Department firefighter in good standing.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Applications must be complete. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Please respond to all questions/requests with attention to detail. Incomplete responses may disqualify your application.
Two letters of recommendation must be received by May 1,2021.
Transcripts and scores must be attached to the application.
Applications must be postmarked by May 1,2021.
Applications become property of SLCAAA and will not be returned.
Winning applicant’s essay may be published with information about the winner.

- Applicant must be a high school graduate or have a GED.
- Applicant must not have been convicted of a felony.
- Applicant must be under 26 years of age.
- Applicant must enroll for a minimum of 12 hours of college credits (or considered a full time student by the institution) at an accredited college, university, or vocational school.
- Applicant may reapply for a second year. Scholarships may only be received for two years.
