The future goal is for these to be used to represent the Sugar Land Fire EMS in parades, neighborhood/civic events, and educational and training projects.  And if required, to be used to provide burial transportation for firefighters.

The 1919 Model T was the first motorized fire truck for Sugar Land.  It under went a restoration back in the late 1970’s to get it back to operational status, but was not a museum level of restoration.  It has been used in parades and events over the years.  It was used in 2019 as a firefighter funeral transportation vehicle.  This truck requires funds to keep it operational.
Picture
The 1926 Seagrave was the second motorized fire truck for Sugar Land.  The pump on this truck was designed to pump water over the top of the 152 feet tall Imperial Sugar Char House.  The goal is to return the condition to “parade readiness”, as a museum quality restoration is cost prohibitive.  This engine has been stored outside for over 30 years. The truck body is in very poor condition, and we do not know when the engine was last run.  The body will require significant metal work, and complete overhaul of the engine and running gears, including new tires and tubes.  The floor board of the cab will need to be replaced and the seat rebuilt and upholstered.

The 1946 Chevrolet was the third fire truck for Sugar Land.  Besides service in Sugar Land, it was used to support the fire fighting efforts of the historic 1947 Texas City explosion of the SS Grandcamp on April 16 & 17, and fire fighting games and training until the early 1980’s.  The goal is to return the condition to “parade readiness”, as a museum quality restoration is cost prohibitive.  This engine has been stored outside for over 20 to 30 years. The truck body is in poor condition, but the lead mechanic has performed some maintenance on the engine over the years and it does run.  The body will require significant metal work, and paint, and the interior will need to be restored.
